Ocean's View:
I
like to walk the oceans
Cold
surface floor
Like
a sad song
That
plays on repeat
Ever
so consistently,
I
watch and wait
Till
the day breaks dawn
Clear
streaks
Of
blue and grey
Light
up my evening sky
Before
my very eyes;
With
shades of blood red
Ever
and vine
I
watch and wait
Till
twilight consumes
My
every waking thought
Returning
to the cities
Loud
obnoxious streetlights
Are
even less appealing than
My
maroon bedroom
Seems
to be lately
I
waited till the black sky
Flitted
through everything
I
had once knew
This
is who I had once been,
Thoughts
and words
Consumed
by meaningless
Banter
I
am a girl without meaning,
A
soul unguided
And
dissipating,
before my very eyes
I see the truth.
What a gorgeous poem. I love the word painting.
ReplyDeleteI am a poet too, haven't written much poetry the past month though :) I wrote poetry in one line stanza's today. That was a great experiment.
Greetings from the A to Z trail,

Ah, one line stanza's are the trickiest for me. I tip my hat to you.
DeleteThanks for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed my poem.
